Price and value
AMYET lists the V9-G60 at $689, marked down from $899. That places it in the most crowded segment of the US direct-to-consumer e-bike market — the band between roughly $600 and $800 where dozens of fat-tire bikes with 1000W hub motors compete almost entirely on specification sheets.
What separates bikes in that band is rarely the motor, because almost all of them claim 1000W. It is the battery. And on that measure the G60 is unusually well positioned: a 48V 20Ah pack, which is 960 watt-hours of nominal stored energy. Its stablemate the EB26 costs $669 and carries 720Wh. Twenty dollars separates them; a third of a battery separates them.
A caveat on the crossed-out $899. Permanent discounting is normal in this part of the market, and a compare-at price that never expires is a marketing device rather than a historical fact. Treat $689 as the price and $899 as a suggestion. We date every price we publish, and if our check goes stale the figure is replaced with a link rather than left to rot.
Motor performance
The G60 runs a 1000W rated rear hub motor with a claimed 1500W peak. Two numbers, two different meanings, and the difference matters more than most product pages admit.
Rated power is what the motor can sustain more or less indefinitely without overheating. Peak power is a short-burst figure — useful for pulling away from a standstill or cresting a rise, but not something the motor will hold for a three-minute climb. When a brand leads with the peak number, as most do, it is describing the best few seconds of the motor's life. AMYET publishes both, which is to their credit.
For practical purposes, plan around 1000W. On flat ground that is far more than you need; a fit cyclist sustains something like 150–250W. On a gradient it is the number that determines whether the bike climbs confidently or whether the motor bogs down, gets hot and starts cutting power to protect itself.
Why the gears matter more than the watts
The G60 has a 7-speed Shimano drivetrain. On a hub-motor bike this is easy to dismiss — the motor is in the wheel, so gearing does not multiply motor torque the way it would on a mid-drive. It still matters, for two reasons.
First, it lets you contribute. On a long climb the difference between spinning a low gear at 80rpm and mashing a high one is the difference between adding 150W of your own for twenty minutes and adding nothing. That directly reduces how hard the motor works, which reduces heat, which keeps the motor delivering. Second, it means the bike still functions when the battery is flat — awkwardly, given the weight, but it functions.
Battery and real-world range
This is the section that should decide your purchase. The G60 carries a 48V 20Ah removable lithium-ion pack. Multiply those two figures and you get 960 watt-hours — the only battery number worth comparing across brands, because voltage alone tells you nothing about capacity and amp-hours alone tell you nothing without the voltage.
Here is how to translate 960Wh into something you can plan a ride around. Energy consumption on a fat-tire e-bike of this weight typically falls somewhere between 15 and 40 watt-hours per mile depending almost entirely on how you ride it:
- Low pedal assist, flat, light rider, ~15 MPH: around 15–20Wh per mile. 960Wh ÷ 18 ≈ 53 miles. This is the territory AMYET's 65-mile claim comes from.
- Moderate assist, mixed terrain, average rider: around 22–28Wh per mile. 960Wh ÷ 25 ≈ 38 miles. This is the realistic planning figure for most people.
- Throttle only, heavier rider, hills, near top speed: 35–45Wh per mile. 960Wh ÷ 40 = 24 miles. This is roughly the bottom of AMYET's own published band, which suggests their 30-mile figure is honest.
What actually shortens range
Rider and cargo weight is the biggest single lever, because every pound has to be accelerated from every stop. Cold is the second: lithium cells lose meaningful capacity below about 40°F, and a winter commute can cost you 20–30% against the same ride in summer. After that, in rough order: sustained speed (aerodynamic drag rises with the square of velocity, so 28 MPH costs far more than 18), gradient, headwind, throttle use versus pedalling, and tire pressure. Running fat tires soft for comfort is pleasant and expensive.
The pack is removable, which matters more than it sounds. It means you can charge indoors without wheeling a 70-pound bike into a hallway, and it means a replacement pack is a purchase rather than a service job when the cells eventually degrade. AMYET sells a 20Ah G60 spare separately, which also tells you the pack is a supported part rather than a sealed one. Charge time is listed at 5–8 hours.

Top speed, and where you can legally use it
AMYET claims up to 32 MPH. That is fast for a fat-tire bike on 20-inch wheels, and it is also above the line that most US states draw.
The three-class framework that around forty states have adopted works like this: Class 1 is pedal assist only, capped at 20 MPH. Class 2 adds a throttle, still capped at 20 MPH. Class 3 is pedal assist to 28 MPH, often with restrictions on where it may be ridden. A bike that assists past 28 MPH falls outside all three classes in those jurisdictions, which typically means it is not legally an e-bike at all — it may be treated as a moped or a motor vehicle, with the registration, licensing and insurance implications that follow.
In practice most bikes in this category ship with a configurable speed limit in the display settings, and can be set to 20 or 28 MPH to comply. AMYET's own support material includes instructions for changing the speed setting. What we cannot tell you is what your state, county or city requires — that varies enormously, and rules on shared-use paths and bike lanes are often stricter than rules on roads.
The honest summary: buy this bike understanding that its headline speed is not universally usable, and check your local rules before you ride it at 32 MPH anywhere public. If legal simplicity matters to you, the EB26 tops out at exactly 28 MPH and sits neatly inside the Class 3 definition.
Ride comfort: tires and suspension
The G60 runs 20 × 4-inch fat tires with what AMYET describes as a dual shock absorber setup — a suspension fork at the front and a rear shock.
On a fat-tire bike, the tires are the primary suspension and everything else is secondary. A 4-inch tire run at 12–15 PSI has an enormous air volume, and that volume deforms around a kerb edge or a stone in a way a narrow tire simply cannot. The practical effect is that broken tarmac, gravel paths, wet grass and light trail all become unremarkable. It is the single reason fat-tire bikes have taken over the budget e-bike market.
The 20-inch question
Wheel diameter is the G60's main compromise against the EB26. A smaller wheel has a steeper approach angle into any obstacle, which means it drops into potholes more readily and loses more momentum doing so. At speed on rough ground a 20-inch wheel feels busier under you.
Against that: a 20-inch wheel accelerates faster from a standstill, is stiffer and stronger for the same spoke count, lowers the standover height, and makes the whole bike shorter — which is the difference between fitting in a hallway and not. One thing we cannot assess from the specification sheet: suspension quality. AMYET does not publish the fork's travel, its damping type, or whether it is preload-adjustable. At this price point, budget coil forks with minimal damping are the norm across the category. Assume the tires are doing most of the work.
Brakes
AMYET lists "dual disc brakes" for the V9-G60. Notably, they do not say hydraulic — and where a brand has hydraulic brakes, they say so. Their own S8 listing explicitly claims hydraulic discs. The reasonable reading is that the G60 uses mechanical (cable-actuated) discs unless AMYET states otherwise.
That is not a disqualifier, but it is worth understanding. Mechanical discs pull the pad via a cable, so lever feel is softer, braking force depends more on hand strength, and cable stretch means they need adjusting as they bed in. Hydraulic discs are self-adjusting, need far less hand force, and modulate better — which matters on a long descent when your hands are tired.
On a bike that may weigh 70-plus pounds before you add a rider, and that claims 32 MPH, braking is the specification we would most want upgraded. If you ride steep terrain regularly, budget for a hydraulic conversion or consider the S8 instead.
Controls, display and lighting
The G60 uses an LCD showing speed, remaining battery, trip mileage and assist mode, with a USB port for charging a phone. AMYET also lists a front headlight, a rear taillight, turn signals and an electric horn, and describes three riding modes: pure electric (throttle), pedal assist, and pedal-only.
The assist-level readout is the control that actually matters. Managing range on an e-bike is almost entirely a matter of choosing a lower assist level early rather than discovering at mile 30 that you have 12% left. A battery percentage readout — rather than the five-bar gauge many cheap displays use — is the difference between planning and guessing. AMYET's product photography suggests a percentage-capable display, but we would confirm before ordering if this matters to you.
Turn signals and a horn are more useful than they sound on a bike that can keep pace with urban traffic, and they are not universal at this price.
Build quality, weight and payload
AMYET rates the G60 for a 330 lb maximum load and states it ships 90% assembled with a toolkit, manual and key.
The specification we cannot give you is the one people most often want: the bike's own weight. AMYET does not publish it for the G60. For context, a 20-inch fat-tire e-bike carrying a 960Wh pack, a 1000W hub motor, a suspension fork and a rear shock is very unlikely to come in under 70 lb, and 75–80 lb would not be surprising. That is worth knowing before you plan to lift it onto a car rack or carry it up a flight of stairs.

"90% assembled" in this category generally means the handlebars, front wheel, pedals, seat and fenders need fitting, and that the brakes want checking and the wheels want a torque-wrench pass before first ride. Even on a bike that arrives well set up, having a shop check the wheel bolts, brake alignment and spoke tension after the first fifty miles is cheap insurance on a machine that carries this much mass at this speed.
Certification, warranty and support
AMYET states that the V9-G60 is UL 2849 certified. This is a more meaningful claim than it first appears, and worth understanding properly.
UL 2849 covers the electrical safety of the complete e-bike system — battery, charger, controller and motor tested together — rather than UL 2271, which covers the battery pack alone. After a run of lithium fires in dense cities, several US jurisdictions and a growing number of building managers and insurers now require UL 2849 before a bike may be stored or charged indoors. New York City's Local Law 39 is the best-known example. If you live in an apartment building, this specification may determine whether you can legally keep the bike where you live.
Warranty is one year, with a 30-day risk-free trial and free shipping in 4–7 working days. One year is standard for the category; it is not generous. The thing to look at is not the headline term but parts availability afterwards, and here AMYET does better than many: they sell replacement batteries, displays, headlights, brake pads, discs and tires through their own store. A bike you can still get a display or a battery for in year three is worth more than a bike with an extra six months of warranty and no spares.
How it compares within the range
Against the EB26, the G60 trades wheel size for battery. You give up the rolling comfort of a 26-inch wheel and gain 240 watt-hours, a higher top speed and a bike that fits in smaller spaces, for twenty dollars. Against the S8, the G60 is $360 cheaper and gives up a second motor, 240 watt-hours, hydraulic brakes and full suspension. That is a lot of hardware. Whether it is worth $360 depends almost entirely on your terrain: on flat and rolling ground the S8's advantages barely surface, and on sustained steep climbs or loose surfaces they are transformative. Across the wider market, a $689 bike with 960Wh and UL 2849 certification is competitive rather than exceptional — but the combination is a good one, and the certification in particular is not universal at this price.

How far will the AMYET V9-G60 actually go on one charge?
AMYET publishes a band of 30 to 65 miles. The 960Wh pack is what sets the ceiling: at a fairly typical 20Wh per mile for a fat-tire bike with a moderate rider on pedal assist, 960Wh works out near 48 miles. Ride on throttle alone into a headwind and 25–30 miles is a more realistic planning figure. Rider weight, hills, cold weather, tire pressure and assist level all move it.
Is the V9-G60 street legal in the US?
It depends on your state. AMYET claims up to 32 MPH, which is above the 28 MPH ceiling for a Class 3 e-bike under the three-class model most states use. Many bikes in this category ship with a speed limiter you can set. Check your state and local rules before riding, particularly on shared-use paths.
