This is the closest fight we run, because the two ranges stop just short of each other: $100 separates the dearest VTUVIA from the cheapest EUNORAU, and on stored energy the META26’s $2.36 per nominal watt-hour sits between the Zeal LT7 and SF20H at $2.08 and the SX20 at $2.38. From there the two ranges diverge rather than compete. VTUVIA stays light, folds, tops out at 20 MPH, and on the SF20H holds the best certification paperwork on this site. EUNORAU goes upward instead — mid-drives, 11-speed gearing, second and third batteries, two frame sizes — and reaches 110 lb doing it. Under $1,600 VTUVIA is the more complete answer. Above it, only EUNORAU has an answer at all.

Two brands that actually meet
Every other cross-brand comparison on this site is decided before it starts, because the price bands sit far apart. This one is different. VTUVIA runs $1,299 to $1,599. EUNORAU runs $1,699 to $2,999. The ranges do not overlap, but they very nearly meet: $100 separates the top of one from the bottom of the other, and across that gap the two brands are asking for almost the same money for genuinely different bikes.
They are also the two brands here that publish the most. All six bikes state a motor torque figure. All six state a bike weight. All six have hydraulic disc brakes with a stated rotor size. Five of the six state an assist sensor type. That is a much higher standard of disclosure than the budget tier manages, and it means this comparison can be argued on specifications rather than on absences.
VTUVIA in one paragraph
Three hub-motor bikes, all factory limited to 20 MPH as Class 2 machines. The Zeal LT7 at $1,299 is a 500W step-through on 27.5 × 2.6-inch tires with a V-Adapt torque sensor, 65 Nm, 62 lb and a 350 lb payload. The SF20H at $1,399 is a 750W folding fat-tire bike, 85 Nm, 60 lb, cadence sensor, and both UL standards. The SX20 at $1,599 shares the SF20H drivetrain and adds a switchable torque-or-cadence sensor and a 5 foot 0 fit floor at 70 lb. All three run Shimano 7-speed and LOGAN-family hydraulic brakes on 180mm rotors.
EUNORAU in one paragraph
One hub motor and two mid-drives, spread far wider. The META26 1.0 at $1,699 is a 500W hub step-through on 26 × 3.0-inch Innova tires with a torque sensor, 55 Nm, 68.4 lb, a 720Wh Samsung pack and a bay for a second one. The FLASH 2.0 at $2,499 is a 1000W Truckrun mid-drive claiming 220 Nm through Shimano 8-speed, full suspension, 110 lb. The SPECTER-S 3.0 at $2,999 is a 1000W Bafang G510 mid-drive claiming 160 Nm through SRAM NX 11-speed, 28 MPH, two frame sizes, 110 lb.
Where they meet: three bikes within $300
Between $1,399 and $1,699 there are three bikes from two brands, and the choice between them is the sharpest question this page has to answer.
META26 against SX20
The $1,699 META26 and the $1,599 SX20 are $100 apart — the EUNORAU the dearer of the two — and almost nothing else about them lines up. The SX20 has the more capable motor on paper — 750W and 85 Nm against 500W and 55 Nm — plus a switchable sensor, 20 × 4-inch fat tires, a folding frame, a 330 lb payload and a fit range starting at 5 foot 0. The META26 answers with 720Wh against 672Wh, a 26 × 3.0-inch tire that rolls better on tarmac than a 4-inch fat tire, motor cut-off switches in the brake levers, app connectivity, Samsung cells named on the listing, and the thing VTUVIA cannot match anywhere in its range: a second battery bay.
That last point is worth stating as arithmetic rather than as a feature. A second META26 pack takes the bike from 720Wh to 1,440Wh. At a fairly typical 20Wh per mile for a 26 × 3.0 tire on moderate assist, 1,440Wh ÷ 20 ≈ 72 miles as an estimate. No VTUVIA takes a second battery, so the SX20's 672Wh is its ceiling: 672 ÷ 25 ≈ 27 miles at a fat-tire consumption rate. If distance is the problem you are solving, the META26 solves it and the SX20 cannot.
Against that, the META26 carries the lowest payload ceiling on this site at 286 lb, which covers rider plus clothing plus rack plus cargo. The SX20 is rated to 330 lb and the Zeal LT7 to 350 lb. For a heavier rider that single number decides the comparison before any of the rest of it matters.
And the SF20H underneath both
The $1,399 SF20H undercuts both and is the most portable bike in this comparison by a wide margin: 60 lb, folding, with a welded rear cargo rack included rather than sold separately. It is also the only bike here with both UL standards on the listing. Its weakness is the sensor, which we come to below.
The money: where the two brands almost meet on energy
Nominal energy is volts multiplied by amp-hours. Divide the current price by it and you have what stored energy costs at each brand.

Which makes the two EUNORAU flagships the clearest statement of the argument anywhere on this site. The SPECTER-S at $3.57 per watt-hour holds 840Wh — less stored energy than the $1,699 META26 — for $1,300 more. Nobody is paying $2,999 for cells. They are paying for a Bafang G510 with a parts supply, an 11-speed cassette, published suspension travel at both ends, a torque sensor, a frame in their size and a certification claim.

VTUVIA states 65 Nm for the Zeal LT7 and 85 Nm for the SF20H and SX20 — the joint highest hub-motor figures on this site. EUNORAU states 55 Nm for the META26, the lowest figure anywhere here, then 160 Nm for the SPECTER-S and 220 Nm for the FLASH.
Where the torque is applied matters as much as its size
A hub motor is built into the wheel, so its torque reaches the ground unchanged whichever gear you are in. The cassette sits between your legs and the wheel, not between the motor and the wheel. All three VTUVIA bikes and the EUNORAU META26 work this way, and all four run 7 speeds.
A mid-drive turns the chainring instead, so its output travels the same path your legs do — chain, cassette, wheel — and that path contains a gear ratio. In a low gear the rear cog is much larger than the chainring, so torque at the wheel becomes a multiple of torque at the cranks. This is why the FLASH's 8-speed and the SPECTER-S's SRAM NX 11-speed are not just conveniences: on a mid-drive, gears are part of the motor's output.
So the honest comparison is not 220 Nm against 85 Nm as though the numbers were measured the same way. It is that on a steep loaded climb the two EUNORAU mid-drives are in a category the four hub-motor bikes here do not occupy, and that on flat ground that advantage does not appear at all. And the speed the motors are allowed to reach
All three VTUVIA bikes ship factory limited to 20 MPH as Class 2 machines, though VTUVIA notes the SF20H is capable of up to 28 MPH at full power and that raising the limit changes the class the bike rides under. EUNORAU states 20 MPH for the META26 and the FLASH, and 28 MPH for the SPECTER-S — exactly the Class 3 ceiling under the US three-class model, though Class 3 access to shared-use paths still varies by state and city.
Sensors: the specification that decides how the bike feels
A cadence sensor watches whether the pedals are turning and applies the assist level you selected; push harder and nothing changes. A torque sensor measures how hard you are pushing and scales the motor to match, so the bike surges as you stand on a climb and eases as you soft-pedal.
Five of the six bikes here state which they use, and four of those five involve a torque sensor:
- VTUVIA Zeal LT7 — V-Adapt torque sensor.
- VTUVIA SX20 — V-Adapt dual sensor, switchable between torque and cadence. The only switchable system on this site.
- VTUVIA SF20H — cadence sensor. The only bike here stated as cadence-only.
- EUNORAU META26 1.0 — torque sensor.
- EUNORAU SPECTER-S 3.0 — torque sensor.
- EUNORAU FLASH 2.0 — not published.
Two things follow. The first is that VTUVIA's cheapest bike, the $1,299 Zeal LT7, has a torque sensor while its $1,399 SF20H does not — so within VTUVIA, spending less gets you the more natural assist. The second is that the FLASH is the outlier: a $2,499 mid-drive, where the sensor shapes the entire character of the ride, with no sensor type published at all. That is an odd omission on the bike that needs the answer most.
Brakes: the one place these two brands are level
All six bikes claim hydraulic disc brakes on 180mm rotors. There is no budget-tier argument to make here, and the differences are at the margins.
VTUVIA's SF20H is the most specifically described: LOGAN callipers with 180mm martensitic stainless steel rotors, named down to the rotor material. The Zeal LT7 also names LOGAN. EUNORAU's edge is functional rather than descriptive: the META26 and the SPECTER-S both have motor cut-off switches in the brake levers, which kill power the instant either lever moves. On a bike with a throttle that is a real safety feature, and VTUVIA does not state it on any model.
Neither brand publishes a water-resistance rating for any of these six bikes — the one specification both ranges leave blank.
Weight, fit and payload

VTUVIA publishes 60 lb for the SF20H, 62 lb for the Zeal LT7 and 70 lb for the SX20. EUNORAU publishes 68.4 lb for the META26 and 50 kg — about 110 lb — for both the FLASH and the SPECTER-S.
The META26 sits inside VTUVIA's band. The two EUNORAU flagships do not sit near it. At 110 lb a bike needs ground-level storage, a ramp rather than a lift, and a hitch rack rated well above the usual 60 lb per bike; you will not carry it up stairs or pick it up alone if it goes over. That is not a criticism — full suspension, a mid-drive and a large pack have to weigh something, and EUNORAU states the figure rather than leaving it out. It is a constraint to plan around.
Fit runs the other way at each end. VTUVIA's SX20 publishes a 5 foot 0 to 6 foot 2 range, the lowest floor on this site, on a step-through folding frame. EUNORAU's SPECTER-S publishes 5 foot 3 to 6 foot 4, the highest ceiling here, helped by being the only bike on this site sold in two frame sizes — 17-inch and 19-inch. On a full-suspension frame that matters considerably, because reach and linkage geometry are fixed by the frame and cannot be corrected with a longer seatpost. The SF20H and Zeal LT7 publish 5 foot 3 to 6 foot 2, the META26 5 foot 4 to 6 foot 3, and the FLASH publishes no fit range at all.
Payload favours VTUVIA. The Zeal LT7 is rated to 350 lb, the highest on this site; the SF20H and SX20 to 330 lb. EUNORAU publishes 286 lb for the META26 — the lowest ceiling anywhere here — and 300 lb for the SPECTER-S.

Certification, bike by bike
Certification varies within both brands and must be read off each listing.

UL 2271 + UL 2849
stated on one bike here, and it is the $1,399 SF20H
UL 2271 certifies the battery pack. UL 2849 certifies battery, charger, controller and motor tested together as one system. They are not interchangeable, and Class 2 is not a safety certification at all — it describes speed and throttle behaviour under the US three-class model.
That leaves an uncomfortable ranking for anyone buying on paperwork. The strongest claim here sits on the second-cheapest bike. The most expensive, at $2,999, says only that it is UL certified without saying to which standard, which leaves a building manager asking the same question the listing was meant to answer. Four of the six state nothing. An unpublished claim is not evidence that a bike is uncertified and we do not read one across from a sibling model — but if certification is the reason you are buying, get the standard number in writing first.
Which brand for which rider
Buy VTUVIA if
The bike has to be liftable, foldable, or certified, and your rides are inside 40 miles. VTUVIA's whole range sits between 60 and 70 lb, all three fold or step through, all three have hydraulic brakes on 180mm rotors, and the SF20H carries the best paperwork on this site for $1,399. If you are a heavier rider or carry cargo, the Zeal LT7's 350 lb rating is the highest number available anywhere here. If you are around five foot tall, the SX20's 5 foot 0 fit floor is the only listing that says yes.
Buy VTUVIA also if you want the torque sensor cheaply: the $1,299 Zeal LT7 is the least expensive torque-sensor bike in this comparison, $300 below the switchable SX20 and $400 below the META26.
Buy EUNORAU if
Your problem is a gradient, a distance, or a frame that does not fit you — the three things VTUVIA's range cannot answer. Only EUNORAU sells a mid-drive here, and only a mid-drive puts the motor upstream of the gears. Only EUNORAU sells a second battery bay, and the META26's 720Wh to 1,440Wh step is arithmetic rather than an optimistic range claim. Only the SPECTER-S comes in two frame sizes, reaches 6 foot 4, and sits at 28 MPH inside the Class 3 framework.
The costs are real and specific: 110 lb on both flagships, 286 lb of payload on the META26, no payload figure at all on the FLASH, and a certification claim on the SPECTER-S that does not name its standard.
The short answer
Under $1,600 we would take VTUVIA, and the SF20H first, because at that price the deciding specifications are weight, brakes, sensor and paperwork rather than climbing — and VTUVIA answers three of those four better. The exception is range: if you need more than a single pack gives, no VTUVIA can help, and the META26 just above the band at $1,699 is the only bike under $2,000 in this comparison that can take a second one.
Above $1,600 the comparison ends, because VTUVIA does not go there. The SPECTER-S is the best-specified bike on this site and priced accordingly. The SX20 has more motor on paper — 750W and 85 Nm against 500W and 55 Nm — plus a switchable torque-or-cadence sensor, a folding frame, a 330 lb payload and a 5 foot 0 fit floor. The META26 has a torque sensor, motor cut-off brake levers, Samsung cells and, decisively, a second battery bay that takes it from 720Wh to 1,440Wh. Choose on whether your problem is capability or distance.
Which of these bikes has the best certification?
The VTUVIA SF20H, and it is not close. VTUVIA states both UL 2271 for the battery pack and UL 2849 for the complete electrical system — battery, charger, controller and motor tested together. No other bike in this comparison names two standards. EUNORAU states that the SPECTER-S is UL certified but does not say which standard applies, which leaves the question half answered on a $2,999 bike. The Zeal LT7, SX20, META26 and FLASH state no certification at all. Ask in writing if a building manager has asked you for it.
Do I need a mid-drive, or will a hub motor do?
It depends on gradient. A hub motor sits in the wheel, so its torque reaches the ground unchanged whichever gear you select. A mid-drive turns the chainring, so its torque passes through the cassette and a low gear multiplies it. EUNORAU publishes 220 Nm on the FLASH through 8 speeds and 160 Nm on the SPECTER-S through 11; VTUVIA publishes 85 Nm from a hub. On steep loaded climbs that gap is real. On flat ground the mid-drive does nothing extra and wears your chain and cassette faster doing it.
Which of these bikes has a torque sensor?
Four of the six. VTUVIA fits a V-Adapt torque sensor to the Zeal LT7 and a switchable torque-or-cadence sensor to the SX20; EUNORAU fits torque sensors to the META26 and the SPECTER-S. The VTUVIA SF20H is stated as cadence-only, which means assist arrives as a step rather than in proportion to your effort. The EUNORAU FLASH publishes no sensor type at all, which is a strange omission on a $2,499 mid-drive where the sensor shapes the whole character of the ride.

The EUNORAU SPECTER-S publishes 5 foot 3 to 6 foot 4, the highest ceiling, and is the only bike here offered in two frame sizes at 17 and 19 inches. On a full-suspension bike that matters, because reach and linkage geometry are set by the frame and cannot be fixed with a longer seatpost. The SF20H and Zeal LT7 publish 5 foot 3 to 6 foot 2, the META26 5 foot 4 to 6 foot 3, and the FLASH publishes nothing.
Can any of these bikes take a second battery?
Only the EUNORAU ones. The META26 takes an optional second 15Ah pack, going from 720Wh to 1,440Wh. The SPECTER-S takes an optional second 15Ah pack, going from 840Wh to 1,560Wh. The FLASH takes two optional packs, a 21Ah top-tube and a 17Ah down-tube, for roughly 2,808Wh in total. No VTUVIA model offers a second battery, so a VTUVIA range figure is a ceiling. If distance is your constraint, that is the clearest reason on this page to buy EUNORAU.
Which brand publishes more?
They are closer than any other pairing on this site, and each has one bad gap. VTUVIA publishes torque, weight, fit range, rotor size and sensor type on all three bikes, but names the SX20 fork without giving its travel and publishes no folded dimensions for the SF20H. EUNORAU names its motors, cells, shocks and tires, and publishes two frame sizes on the SPECTER-S, but the FLASH omits payload, sensor type, charge time and rider height. Neither brand publishes a water-resistance rating for any of these six bikes.
