VTUVIA sits in the middle at $1,299 to $1,599, and the difference from the budget tier is mostly in what they are willing to write down: torque in newton-metres, fork travel, rotor material, rider height, bike weight and — on the SF20H — both UL numbers. Hydraulic brakes are standard across the range and two of the three bikes use a torque sensor.

EUNORAU runs from $1,699 to $2,999 and is the only brand here selling mid-drive motors, where the gearing multiplies the motor’s torque as well as yours. Two of the three bikes we cover take optional additional batteries, all three use torque sensors, and the specification sheets name their components — Bafang, SRAM, Samsung, DNM — rather than leaving them generic.
