Price: what $20 actually buys
AMYET lists the V9-G60 at $689, down from $899, and the EB26 at $669, down from $799. Twenty dollars separates them — about 3% of either price, and less than the cost of a decent lock.
That is small enough that price should not decide this. What should decide it is what the twenty dollars is attached to, and the answer is unusual: it buys 240 watt-hours of battery.
Read the other way round, though, the EB26 is not overpriced — it is differently priced. The money that does not go into cells goes into a 26-inch wheelset, a high-carbon steel frame and lockable aluminium shocks. You are not buying less bike. You are buying a bike that has spent its budget on the ride rather than on the range.
One caution that applies to both. Crossed-out compare-at prices are close to permanent in this part of the market. Treat $689 and $669 as the prices, and $899 and $799 as marketing furniture.
Battery and range: the central difference
The G60 carries a 48V 20Ah pack. The EB26 carries 48V 15Ah. Multiply volts by amp-hours and you get the only battery figure worth comparing across bikes: 960Wh against 720Wh. The G60 holds a third more energy.
Neither claim is a plan. The way to build a plan is to divide the pack by a consumption rate. Fat-tire e-bikes of this weight typically use somewhere between 15 and 40 watt-hours per mile, depending almost entirely on how hard you make the motor work.
- Moderate assist, mixed ground, average rider (≈25Wh/mile): 960Wh ÷ 25 ≈ 38 miles on the G60. 720Wh ÷ 25 ≈ 29 miles on the EB26. Both are ESTIMATES.
- Throttle-heavy, hills or a headwind (≈40Wh/mile): 960Wh ÷ 40 = 24 miles against 720Wh ÷ 40 = 18 miles. ESTIMATES again, and close enough to AMYET’s own low figures to suggest their bands are honest.
The gap is proportional, which is the point. Whatever your personal consumption rate turns out to be, the G60 goes about a third further on it. On a nine-mile commute that difference is invisible — both bikes do the week. On a 30-mile Sunday ride it is the difference between arriving home and arriving home nervous.
The thing that quietly erodes both
Cold. Lithium cells lose meaningful capacity below about 40°F, and a winter commute can cost 20–30% against the same ride in July. A 720Wh pack losing a quarter behaves like a 540Wh pack. A 960Wh pack losing the same quarter behaves like 720Wh — which is to say, like a brand-new EB26. If you ride year round in a cold place, that is an argument for the larger pack on its own.

Wheels and ride: 20-inch against 26-inch
This is the difference you notice in the first hundred yards, and the one specification sheets are worst at conveying.
Both bikes run 4-inch fat tires, so both have the enormous air volume that makes broken tarmac and gravel unremarkable. The variable is diameter. A 26-inch wheel meets a pothole edge at a shallower angle than a 20-inch wheel does, so it climbs out of it rather than dropping into it, and it loses less momentum in the process. Over a long stretch of chattery surface the larger wheel is simply calmer under you.
The 20-inch wheel answers with acceleration, a lower standover height, a stiffer and stronger wheel for the same spoke count, and a considerably shorter bike. For stop-start city riding, and for anyone who stores a bike in a hallway or lifts it into a car, those are real advantages rather than consolations.
Height plays into it too. Taller riders often find a 20-inch fat bike feels small beneath them, and the EB26 is the more natural fit. Suspension
AMYET describes the G60 as having a dual shock absorber setup — a suspension fork at the front and a rear shock. The EB26 is listed with lockable aluminium dual shock absorbers, and the lockout is the meaningful word. Being able to firm the suspension up for smooth tarmac stops the bike bobbing under pedalling effort, which wastes energy and feels vague. Being able to open it again for a gravel path is the whole argument for adjustable suspension.
What neither listing gives is fork travel, damping type or preload-adjustability. At this price, budget coil forks with minimal damping are the category norm. On both bikes, assume the tires are doing most of the work.
Motors: closely matched, and that is the story
Both bikes use a 1000W rated rear hub motor with a claimed 1500W peak. Both have a 7-speed drivetrain. On paper the power difference between them is nil.
Rated power is what a motor can hold more or less indefinitely without overheating. Peak power is a short-burst figure — useful for pulling away from a standstill or cresting a rise, not something a hub motor will sustain through a three-minute climb. Plan around 1000W on either bike.
There is one indirect difference. Gearing on a hub-motor bike does not multiply motor torque the way it would on a mid-drive, but it does decide how usefully you can contribute. Wheel diameter changes the effective gearing: for the same cassette, a 26-inch wheel gives taller gearing than a 20-inch one, which favours cruising and disadvantages starting on a steep pitch. The 20-inch G60 will feel more urgent away from a standstill. Top speed, and where you can legally use it
AMYET claims up to 32 MPH for the G60 and up to 28 MPH for the EB26. This looks like a small performance gap. It is actually a legal distinction, and it is the most underrated point in this comparison.
Around forty US states use a three-class framework. Class 1 is pedal assist only to 20 MPH. Class 2 adds a throttle, still to 20 MPH. Class 3 is pedal assist to 28 MPH, often with restrictions on paths. A bike that assists beyond 28 MPH falls outside all three classes in those states, which typically means it is not legally an e-bike — it may be treated as a moped, with registration, licensing and insurance consequences.
The EB26’s 28 MPH ceiling lands exactly on the Class 3 line. The G60’s 32 MPH does not. In practice bikes in this category usually ship with a configurable speed limit in the display settings, and AMYET’s support material covers changing the speed setting — so a G60 can very likely be set to comply. But the EB26 arrives compliant, and for some buyers not having to think about it is worth more than four miles an hour they were never going to use.
What we cannot tell you is what your own state, county or city requires. Shared-path rules are frequently stricter than road rules. Check before you buy, not after.
Brakes, certification and stopping a heavy bike
AMYET lists the EB26 with dual mechanical disc brakes. For the G60 they list only dual disc brakes, with no hydraulic claim — and since their own S8 listing does claim hydraulic discs, the reasonable reading is that the G60 is mechanical too. Treat these two bikes as equivalent on braking hardware.
Mechanical discs pull the pad through a cable. Lever feel is softer, braking force depends more on hand strength, and cables stretch as they bed in, so they need adjusting. On a bike that is likely to weigh 65–80 lb before a rider gets on it, and that claims 28 or 32 MPH, that is the specification we would most want improved on either machine. If you ride long descents or carry loads, budget for good pads and a proper setup, or look at the S8.
On certification the two are level and both are better than average for the money. AMYET states the G60 is UL 2849 certified and that the EB26 complies with UL 2849; the EB26 additionally lists an IP65 battery. UL 2849 covers the complete electrical system — battery, charger, controller and motor tested together — rather than the pack alone. Several US cities and a growing number of building managers and insurers now require it before a bike may be charged or stored indoors. If you live in an apartment, that may decide more than any spec on this page.
Weight, storage and payload

Weight is where the disclosure runs out. AMYET does not publish a bare bike weight for the G60 at all. For the EB26 the only figure available is a 30 kg (about 66 lb) shipping weight, which includes the box and packaging, so the bike itself is lighter than that — by how much, AMYET does not say. Neither number is usable for deciding whether you can carry the bike upstairs. If that matters, ask AMYET directly.
What can be said is which is more awkward. The EB26 has 26-inch wheels, a longer wheelbase and a high-carbon steel frame — steel is more forgiving over rough ground and cheaper to repair than aluminium, but it is heavier. The G60 is shorter and its 20-inch wheels lower the whole bike. For a flat, a hallway, a lift or a car boot, the G60 is the easier object to live with, and that is not a small consideration on a machine of this mass.
Both ship 90% assembled with a toolkit, manual and key, with a one-year warranty and a 30-day trial. In this category, 90% assembled usually means fitting the handlebars, front wheel, pedals, seat and fenders, then checking the brakes and torquing the wheel bolts. A shop check after the first fifty miles is cheap insurance on either.
The verdict
This is a comfort-versus-distance decision, and it is unusually clean because everything else is nearly identical: same motor claims, same drivetrain, same payload, same warranty, same charge time, comparable brakes and comparable certification.
Buy the G60 if your rides regularly run past about 25 miles, if you ride in cold weather, if storage or lifting is tight, or if you simply want the most stored energy per dollar. Twenty dollars for 240 watt-hours is the best-value line item in AMYET’s catalogue.
Buy the EB26 if your roads are genuinely bad, if you are tall enough that small wheels feel wrong, if you want lockable suspension you can firm up for the commute, or if the Class 3 legal fit matters where you live. Its 720Wh pack is enough for a daily commute of most realistic lengths.

Is the G60 worth $20 more than the EB26?
On battery alone, comfortably. The $20 buys 240 extra watt-hours, taking the pack from 720Wh to 960Wh — a third more stored energy. That works out at roughly $0.72 per watt-hour for the G60 against $0.93 for the EB26. The counter-argument is that the EB26 spends its money elsewhere: 26-inch wheels, a steel frame and lockable suspension. So the honest answer is that it depends on whether you want distance or comfort, but if you are undecided, the extra energy is the harder thing to add later.
Which one goes further in the real world?
The G60, by roughly a third, whatever your riding style. AMYET lists 30 to 65 miles for the G60 and about 30 miles on throttle or up to 60 miles on pedal assist for the EB26. A more useful planning method is arithmetic: at a typical 25 watt-hours per mile, 960Wh divides out to about 38 miles and 720Wh to about 29 miles. Both are estimates, not measurements. Rider weight, hills, cold, headwind, tire pressure and throttle use all move them, but the proportional gap between the two bikes stays.
Are 26-inch wheels really better than 20-inch?
For rolling comfort and stability at speed, yes. A larger wheel meets an obstacle at a shallower angle, so it climbs over potholes rather than dropping into them, and it holds momentum better over sustained chatter. For acceleration, low-speed handling, standover height and storage, the 20-inch wheel wins. Taller riders usually prefer the 26-inch bike. Neither size is universally correct — it depends on your roads and where the bike lives when you are not riding it.
Does the 28 versus 32 MPH difference matter legally?
It can. Around forty US states use a three-class system where Class 3 tops out at 28 MPH of pedal assist. The EB26 sits exactly on that line.
